Hypercard is back with a free adventure, "Coastal Structure Madness".

Interactive fiction writer Porpentine has released a new adventure that looks a lot like his older work: Hypercard, of course, which you may have heard of, a Mac development tool from the 80s and 90s that made hyperlinks possible before the World Wide Web came along. It was the Mac development tool of the 80s and 90s that made hyperlinks possible before the World Wide Web. Coastal Structure Madness" looks and feels like a Hypercard game, but with some playful Infocom-style text mixed in.

A text-based adventure in which you roll RPG-style dice to collect items, it takes place in and around a strange tower in the jungle. After the plane crashes, you must figure out a way to get yourself back up and out of the situation, but beware that death could come at any moment.

This really reminded me of a game from the golden age of interactive fiction. It's a silly, playful, and occasionally nasty adventure with a coherent worldview, but the scenes are strange and imaginative.
