Aquamarine is a Mobius-inspired psychedelic underwater survival game

Exploring Earth's oceans is one thing, but what about exploring the oceans of other worlds, as Subnautica and the upcoming In Other Waters showcase the wonder and fun of exploring subterranean alien life forms but after playing the Kickstarter pre-alpha demo of Moebial Studio's "Aquamarine," its gorgeous underwater alien world joins them.

Aquamarine is an underwater survival game where you explore the bottom of a mysterious alien ocean in search of a crashed spaceship. Marooned on a small island, you must search for resources to survive and find a way to reach your ship on this mysterious pink and blue planet.

The music is a mix of warm, lo-fi synths that, combined with the otherworldly, water-washed colors, create a very relaxing atmosphere. It's a very chill experience for a survival-themed game. Aquamarine's art style was inspired by the work of French cartoonist Mobius, who is known to have been heavily influenced by his gorgeous alien worldview.

To explore the planet's deep waters, you have a small underwater pod. It's a slow, purposeful game that focuses on quiet exploration with turn-based movement. Although not included in the demo, Aquamarine also has a point-and-click puzzle-solving element that reveals more of the planet's history.

Developer Moebial Studios previously ran a Kickstarter in 2018, which unfortunately failed. In this year's campaign video, Aquamarine's lead design and director Patrick Fallon explains that the studio has learned a lot since then and built a strong community, which the studio surpassed its campaign goal of $12,500, totaling $18,000 This is reflected in the fact that they have raised just under $18,000.

The Kickstarter campaign is in its final hours, and the full campaign and further details can be found on the Aquamarine Kickstarter page. Moebial Studios plans to release the full version of Aquamarine near the end of this year with a release is planned for near the end of this year.
