Bungie Confirms Trials of Osiris Returns in Destiny 2 on March 13

"Destiny 2" will finally be implementing "Trials of Osiris," a 3-on-3 PvP mode that was popular in the original version; it will be part of the "Season of the Worthy," which kicks off on March 10, with the first weekend-based trials beginning on Friday, March 13.

In a short presentation video embedded above, Bungie confirms that the three original Trials maps will return.

Players have long suspected the return of this mode, but it was nearly confirmed today when Polarized Fractaline donations to the Empyrean Foundation surpassed the 9,777,777,700 milestone in-game. In a cutscene in the game, the Guardian also lit a glowing beacon on Mercury.

Bungie seems convinced that the much-maligned matchmaking is up to the task. Game Director Luke Smith said on Twitter, "Trials uses connection-based & card state matchmaking." When you're about to visit a new lighthouse (one that you've all spent a great deal of fractalin and labor to build), we want you to play against people in similar locations." Smith also promised that there will be more news about Season 10 in the coming weeks, and posted the following image as a preview:

Meanwhile, we know that the next season will bring major changes to armor. For avid players, there is a lot to decipher from the short vidoc released tonight. For one, Bungie mentioned that Trials will be "power enabled," meaning that the amount of light will affect the amount of damage. This change could be divisive and basically means that those who are willing to grind will have an advantage.

The armor used in the Trials loot pool is a reskin of the original Trials gear, but it is the best gear in the history of the game, enhanced with lighting that glows when a player draws the "perfect" card in the game. not saying it is like wearing RGB clothing I'm not, but I'm also saying this.
