If you have ever taken a cat that loves to be outside to a cattery or veterinarian, you may have experienced the phenomenon of the cat disappearing just before you take it away. It is as if they know they will be confined to a cage for a period of time. You can work on your cat-hunting skills a bit with the wonderful hidden object game Hidden Cats. In this game, the objects to detect are named cats, and you play as someone who works at a cat shelter.
Strongly inspired by "Hidden Folks" (so says developer Andreas Wilcox on the game's page), "Hidden Cats" is another sweetly broadly drawn adventure game about finding objects in a messy "Where's Wally"-style environment. Not as interactive, detailed, or wonderfully cartoony as Hidden Folks, with only one scene to explore after the tutorial area, the environment is full of charm and life, and the cats are adorably faithful. They lounge around in poses and chomp at the bit.
These poses must be analyzed to find all the missing cats, as they often face a different direction or rotate from the pictures displayed at the bottom of the screen. If you are up for the challenge, try playing Hidden Cats. You can play for free in your browser.
