If you like Undertale and purple, you'll love Grim's Hollow, a refreshingly short JRPG that puts you on the shoulders of a recently hired reaper. I say "hired," but it's actually more like you died on Earth and ended up in some sort of purgatory, where you were assigned the role of Grim Reaper at random. Your brother, on the other hand, came here as a ghost. The same ghost that the Grim Reaper is responsible for sending to the afterlife. Eh.

Over several hours and multiple endings, "The Valley of the Grim" tells a sweet, lightly moving paranormal tale. There are only a few named characters, but they are all memorable, especially the bread-loving Grim Reaper Baker, who has a face like a baguette.

The battle system is surprisingly deep, requiring you to attack and defend against specter-like enemies while playing quick-rhythm mini-games (think Shadow Hearts). This may actually be a bit tricky, as it occurs even when you are in the command menu, but the battles are still involving, often tactical, and accompanied by outrageous battle themes.
