Rust, CCTV Update Raises Security Awareness

Rust, CCTV Update Raises Security Awareness

If you've ever looked at your base in Rust and thought it wasn't dystopian enough or London enough, you're in luck: the March update added CCTV cameras to monitor roamers and other threats.

CCTV cameras can be placed in and around the base, and once installed, the images can be viewed by a computer. Each camera would also need to be assigned a unique identifier from the computer, so that the person or others with that name would have access to the feed. Probably best to keep it secret.

Since there is no limit to the scope, one could theoretically build a small spy network consisting of cameras and outposts linked to the main base and computers. This would be for security reasons and would not be malicious.

The player has an encrypted identifier in hand, which, if deciphered, will hopefully lead to something interesting. Now they can start hacking on their new computers.

Updates include trumpets that can be attached to auto-turrets to play music and warn hostile players, the ability for admins to change the sea level and flood or dry the map, a new cinematic tool (whose documentation can be found on the wiki), and more fixes and improvements included.
