Doom 64" has a new level and can run at up to 1000 fps.

"Doom 64" will launch on Steam on March 20, along with its younger, more gratuitously violent sibling, "Doom Eternal." The original Midway game was ported by Nightdive Studios. In a new interview, the studio revealed that the remastered version will also take the old 1997 Nintendo shooter to a new level.

Senior developer James Haley told US Gamer about the new levels, saying, "We've been working on a new level for a while now. 'On our end, persistent players will have the opportunity to unlock a new chapter in the Doomguy saga.

"The Mother Demon you defeated has a sister, and since you kept messing up hell, she will try to get rid of you and get rid of you. If you can go back and get your revenge, you will be rewarded with a bit of lore that fans of both the old and new series will enjoy."

Meanwhile, lead engine developer Samuel Villarreal confirmed in the same interview that the game will run at 120 fps.
