Eric Baron, creator of "Stardew Valley," finally gets a decent desk.

Eric Baron, creator of "Stardew Valley," is quite a celebrity around here. Not only did he single-handedly create the hugely popular farm life sim "Stardew Valley," he did it on the most lovably crappy PC desk I've ever seen. It's a terrible desk with terrible ergonomics:

After selling 10 million units, Barone got a little more mainstream attention, and he finally got a decent workbench, as you can see in the KING 5 news coverage embedded above.

The coverage is largely a history of Stardew Valley: Barone graduated from college and, lacking a job, decided to bolster his resume by creating his own game. What was supposed to be a relatively short project with modest sales goals took more than four years to complete, and Barone quickly became a popular figure in the indie world.

Barone told the station that the worldview of "Stardew Valley" was inspired by the Pacific Northwest, where he has lived all his life. He also discussed why he is still working on the game, nearly a decade after he first started it and four years after its release.

"When I play, every moment is filled with joy and wonder, and I want to bring back the magic I may have felt when I first played video games," Barone said in the video.

"What really feels good, what makes me feel like my life was totally worth it, is the fact that 'Stardew Valley' brought so much joy and happiness to people, that my little game brought so many positive things to the world. It really makes me feel good.

Barone is currently working on a 1.5 update for Stardew Valley. It will include bananas.
