Epic Games Store adds local pricing for Canada, Australia, etc.

The evolution of the Epic Games store continues today with the addition of local currency support for Australia, Canada, Denmark, Norway, and Sweden.

Local currency support means that users in these countries, like myself for example, no longer have to worry about converting US dollars to their own funds, and instead pay the amount shown on the screen. The relative value of local cash may rise or fall with exchange rate fluctuations, but pricing is generally close to parity.

For example, "Borderlands 3" is priced at US$60, which is currently $83.26 CDN and $91.48 AU. This pricing is also consistent with Steam's local currency pricing. [For example, pre-ordering "Death Stranding" on EGS, converted from US dollars, was AU$110 earlier this month, but is now a much more reasonable AU$91. [The Epic Games Store roadmap shows that "trending" storefront categories, mod support, self-service refunds, offline sign-in, add-on content discovery, and achievements are all "coming next." In addition, a temporary requirement to enable two-factor authentication to claim free games each week was recently implemented.
