Composer of "Vikings" TV show to write music for "Assassin's Creed Valhalla".

According to a representative from Ubisoft, Norwegian musician and singer Einar "Kvitlahun" Selvik has written the original music for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Selvik is responsible for the music for 11 episodes of the History Channel show "Vikings" He is responsible for the music and has been credited with vocals and "ancient Norse instruments" throughout the show's six seasons.

In addition to his television work, Selvik leads the Norwegian folk band Wardruna, which likewise uses traditional Nordic instruments. With his participation, we can expect the soundtrack to "Valhalla" to feature lyre, flute, lure, deerskin drum, goat horn, and other historical sounds, along with Selvig's deep vocals.

The following tracks by Wardruna give a good sense of the dramatic fire-breathing and horse-riding man vibe he brings:

Valhalla is composed by Danish composer, who has worked on multiple "Assassin's Creed" series titles (since the first) Jesper Kyd, and American composer Sarah Shachner, who scored "Origins" and co-wrote the music for "Unity".

The choice to include Selvig's talents in the music mix suggests that Ubisoft is not shy about the impact the show has had.

Oddly enough, Vikings: Valhalla is apparently the name of Netflix's "Vikings" sequel, something that has been known since last year; Google search results show "Vikings" and "Assassin: The show may not actually air for a bit longer.

The last time I saw an Xbox 360 was in the US.

The Assassin's Creed Valhalla "gameplay reveal" from the last Xbox livestream was disappointing, but Ubisoft will be holding its own E3 conference-like show in July, so we should get a better look there.

Thanks, Gamespot.

CORRECTION: This article originally listed all three names as composers for Assassin's Creed Valhalla. Kyd and Shachner are the game's composers, while Selvig is "working on original music for the game," Ubisoft said.
