Halo 3, Master Chief's debut on Xbox 360, will be added to the PC version of Halo: The Master Chief Collection, and as 343 Industries explains on the MCC development blog, public testing is expected to begin in the first half of June.

"Next on the menu for the PC version of MCC is Halo 3, which is already in the early stages of flight on Ring 1. We are aiming to have a fully paired down flight build in the hands of our partners next week, which is much earlier than normal. Our goal is to begin public flights of Halo 3 in the first half of June. We can't wait to get the community involved.

Note that "flight" means "test," so if all goes well, the public should be able to get their hands on Halo 3 in early June. It is still unclear what this test will entail, but if it is similar to Halo 2's public testing period, it appears that a sampling of campaign missions and multiplayer games will be offered, the content of which will change from day to day.
