Twin Stick Rogue Lite, Dracula: Genesis, Early Access Now Available

If the Bitmap Brothers had made "Enter the Gungeon" or "Nuclear Throne," it would be a game like "I, Dracula": an isometric, twin-stick just launched in Steam Early Access, It's a rogue light shooter called I, Dracula: Genesis, and Game Jolt has a fun and engaging demo (though note that it's fairly short with a time limit).

You might wonder if we need another action-oriented rogue light. But "I, Dracula" stands out for its squishy excess of detailed pixel art and refreshingly maximalist attitude. The demo was overwhelming in a good way.

Regarding the early access release, developer Moregames said, "If you enjoy the typical Roguelite/Roguelike experience, this game is ten times more fun. Procedurally generated, upgradeable weapons, spells, perks, alien artifacts, strange tech and magical devices, enemies, NPCs, traps, custom events, hidden stores. You will be overwhelmed by so much. On the surface, it's a beautiful isometric twin-stick shooter, but what's inside is very much focused on depth, variety, replayability, and discovering some spectacularly awesome synergies.

While this early access release looks substantial, the full release will add more heroes, enemies, items, areas, etc., and depending on whether you believe the Steam page or the press release, it will be released late 2020 or next summer. Either way, it's one to keep an eye on.
