Minecraft Dungeons pays homage to Diablo with secret levels of cattle

"Minecraft Dungeons" is a "Minecraft"-style action RPG dungeon crawler. When I played this game recently, I mentioned that it felt similar to games like "Castle Crashers" and "Overcooked," but the most obvious comparison is to the king of the genre, Diablo: Diablo. The game was released today, but its association with Diablo ironically turns out to be more than that: there is a secret cow level in Minecraft Dungeons.

Lords of Gaming has details on how to get there, but the short version is that once you've cleared Minecraft Dungeons, you need to find your way into a huge church near the campsite. Once inside, you will interact with a picture of a dog, which will reveal the locations of other levels of the game that you will need to revisit to discover the hidden runes. Once you have all the runes, go back and press the big glowing button to open the entrance to a secret level called "Moo."

If you are not familiar with the story of the secret level of Diablo's cows, it started with a rumor about the first game: that it was a secret level in the game, and that it was a secret level in the game. But the rumor was so persistent and ridiculous that Blizzard included it in Diablo 2. The rumor was that in an open field, the bovines of hell (literally, bipedal cows with pole arms) surrounded the Cow King, and the Cow King must never be killed. If you haven't seen it yet, you can see it in all its ridiculous glory here.

Diablo 3 also has a secret cow level, full of hell cows and ruled by a cow queen.

Minecraft Dungeons' cow level looks like it would be hard to access, but that's true of the original, which is a fun (and perfectly appropriate) tribute to the game that inspired it.
