Valorant released with new Spy Crash mode, agents, and maps

Following a beta that apparently averaged 3 million players a day jumping in, "Valorant" has gone live. It's free-to-play, so you can start losing to people who have been practicing for months without spending a dime. [especially if you get your hands on the new "Ascent" map or the newest "Spike Rush" mode.

Spike Rush is still in beta, but available through live games. It is a more hectic version of the regular Spike mode, especially with fewer rounds and a best of seven.

Ascent, on the other hand, takes agents to Italy, where much of the action takes place in a large open space in the center of the map, a "playground of diverse abilities," according to Riot, and is expected to appear frequently in matchmaking over the next few days.

The launch update also included adjustments such as buffs and nerfs to Sage, Omen, Phoenix, Raise, and Jet. A performance update was also made, addressing frame rate issues and improving quality of life.

A competitive mode has not yet been implemented for Valorant, but will be. Says Riot, "Our initial focus is to make sure the service is stable before enabling competitive matchmaking." Competitive matchmaking mode will be available after a few patches.

While waiting for the download, please see the full patch notes.
