Liberated is an ultra-stylish tech noir action game set in an interactive comic book setting.

Liberated, released to critical acclaim for the Nintendo Switch in June, is coming to PC, and a new trailer released on Guerrilla Collective highlights the stylish black-and-white art, frame-hopping story, and comic book-style It highlights clever combat with BANGS and POWS.

In March, Rachel interviewed Conrad Wawkski, communications manager at developer Atomic Wolf, about the thinking behind the game's unique graphic novel-inspired design.

"We wanted to create a simulation of reading comics in a digital space," WaƂkuski says. 'To achieve that, we included a lot of details. First you see the whole picture, then you zoom in on each panel and take your time with each individual image, creating context from the surrounding panels." [There is no loading screen, nothing forcing you to move forward; the reader sets the pace.

Liberated features a cyberpunk near-future setting, a dramatic story told from multiple perspectives, and side-scrolling action incorporating gunfights, stealth, puzzles, and platforming. And all of this happens within the panels of a moving, living comic book. [The game will be released on PC in July and is available on GOG, Steam, Humble, and NVIDIA GeForce NOW.
