RTS "DwarfHeim" Beta Registration Now Open

VIDEO: DwarfHeim trailer at the PC Gaming Show, also on YouTube.

DwarfHeim is an RTS, an RTS, an RTS! I would say that the RTS genre has been on the rise lately, but DwarfHeim is taking on the genre with co-op, and so far that may be enough to fill the void. Announced at this year's PC Gaming Show, registration is now open for the beta version of the game, which will be available for download on the PC Gaming Show website. [The real draw of DwarfHeim is its co-op mode, so if you want to see it reach its full potential, you'll want to join DwarfHeim's multiplayer beta, which you can do by visiting DwarfHeim's official Discord channel and sending your bristly DwarfHeim and throw your Dwarf beard into the ring. The beta will run from June 19 through June 21.

Pineleaf Studio has released a new trailer to accompany the news. The topsoil settlement is strongly reminiscent of Age of Empires, but then footage of mining enters, and suddenly DwarfHeim looks like Factorio.

It would be quite a challenge to juggle these different management and architectural styles alone, but I can imagine that a few co-op buddies would make the process smoother by sharing the duties. I can also imagine that once the troll hordes start knocking on the gates, all your plans can go down the drain. Dwarfheim is going to be a test of friendship.

No release date has been set yet, but DwarfHeim is expected to be released this fall.
