Cooler Master's line of PC cases ranges from the massive Cosmos C700 full tower to the compact Mastercase NC100 for Intel NUCs. In a few days, the company's first enclosure for the Raspberry Pi will appear on Kickstarter.

Called the "Pi Case 40," this small enclosure is designed to house and cool a Raspberry Pi mini PC.

"Right out of the box, the Pi Case 40 allows the CPU to run faster and cooler thanks to an aluminum core that is in direct contact with the processor," Cooler Master explains.

In this regard, it can be considered a hybrid case/heatsink and is completely silent as it has no cooling fan. How well it works in practice remains to be seen, but in Cooler Master's view, the Pi Case 40 is a "high-end chassis. From what we have seen, it certainly appears to be sophisticated.

It also has a "high-grade" TPU bumper that is designed to have some durability.

Cooler Master is withholding some of the finer details at this time, but said the case includes a daughter board to redirect the GPIO pins and remap the power button. Additionally, all Raspberry Pi connections are redirected to the side of the case.

It is designed specifically for the Raspberry Pi 4. Measuring 3.78 x 2.68 x 1.1 inches (96 x 68 x 28 mm), it is quite compact.
