Fortnite and Thor crossover finally confirmed; other Marvel characters may appear

After weeks of rumors, dubious skins, and excited tweets from data miners, Epic has finally confirmed that a Fortnite and Thor crossover is in the works, judging by the dates found in Epic's tweets from Fortnite's official Twitter account Then, a Thor crossover will likely be featured as one of the biggest highlights of Season 4, just like Aquaman in Season 3.

Epic's announcement is rather thin on details, except for a date that would double-confirm when Season 4 will begin.

But Thor is far from the first Marvel crossover skin to appear in Fortnite. Despite Season 3's reliance on Aquaman and the announcement of the Joker and Poison Ivy skin bundles, just this season players were able to purchase a Captain America skin.

Rumors about a Thor skin began long before July (remember July?), when Captain America made his Fortnite appearance from Thor's world through the Bifrost Rainbow Bridge. A few months later, dataminers found a file somewhere in the Fortnite lobby menu indicating that the comic would appear, along with rumors that Wolverine from X-Men would also make an appearance.

HypeX, a data miner with a reliable record for providing leaked information, provided some additional information after Epic's announcement of Thor. [Donald Mustard, Worldwide Creative Director at Epic Games, also left some hints. In the past, he has used his Twitter profile to offer hints about the upcoming season's theme. Surprisingly, he has changed his header image to a comic page featuring Iron Man and Dr. Doom. The location has also been changed to "Close to Zero." If this is a comic book reference, I don't get it.

That's all we know so far, but we're excited to know that Marvel will be a major focus; don't forget to read everything else we know about Fortnite Season 4, and check out the rest of the Fortnite Guide and Patch Notes.
