Falconeer attaches pilots and guns to giant birds and sends them into aerobatic dogfights with other Falconeers and many other flying threats. It's an impressive and agile aerial combat game that will likely have test flight opportunities throughout the closed beta.
You can sign up for the beta now on the Falconeer Discord, but it will begin in October, with The Falconeer launching the following month. A specific release date has not yet been set, but it is expected to be released this November.
What will be showcased in the closed beta has not yet been announced, but we can expect a battle in the clouds and a chance to explore parts of The Great Ursee. Developer Tomas Sala was with us at PAX East to show off the demo.
The fact that the game is open-world rather than broken up into individual missions is particularly appealing. The combat looks like a lot of fun, but I just want to fly around and explore on a big bird. The Great Ulushie is a drowned land full of remnants of ancient civilizations, lost technology and treasures to discover in the sky and beneath the waves. I want to forget about quests and factions, I just want to sightsee.
Take a look at some of these places:
