Here's to the return of Dan, Street Fighter's most idiotic fighter!

Rolling, yelling, barking, dancing, and just goofing around, Dan is the funniest Street Fighter character to me. That Dan is back. Starting out in the hazy past as a goofball character played only to humiliate his opponents, Dan has grown from a goofball character to an actually useful goofball character. (It's my hobby.)

Ahead of his appearance in Street Fighter V this winter, Capcom has released a new video from the Tokyo Game Show that captures Dan's moves. These are very normal Dan moves. He is full of effective moves, including yells, kicks, and punches, but many of his moves end with a flourish or a wiggle at the end. For example, he adjusts his foot position after a kick, or waves a sore hand after a heavy downpunch hits the floor.

He even has his signature "Gadoken" and "Shoryuken," which are definitely unique moves not based on anyone else's techniques. Dan's throw animations are quite clean in SFV, with a forward throw that swings his legs up and a slightly slower backward throw over his shoulder.

Perhaps most importantly, Dan's legendary taunt move is back. It's like a regular super combo, something other characters have, but it doesn't do anything except make Dan dance around like an idiot and show off. No damage is done. I would like to congratulate the first person to successfully pull off this move and also win the tournament.

Dan will be part of the final season of Street Fighter V this winter, along with several other characters. These releases will last until the summer of 2021, but Dan and his Saikyo Ryu martial arts will be the first to appear. He deserves to be the strongest character.
