'Destiny 2: Beyond Light' Exotic Trailer Features Gun That Shoots Bullets in a Different Timeline

With just over a month to go until the release of Destiny 2: Beyond Light, the next expansion to Bungie's compelling yet frustrating shooter, Destiny 2, a mouth-watering new trailer has arrived. While the previous trailer focused on the new patrol zone Europa, this trailer focuses on one of the most important elements of the new Destiny 2: The New Gun.

Beyond Light revealed four exotic weapons and several types of armor for each of the three classes. And some of them are pretty wild. For example, the Destiny 1 version of the No Time To Explain pulse rifle had the benefit of returning precision hits to the magazine. That's fine, but the new version being added to Beyond Light can open a portal to fire bullets from a different timeline.

That's all the exotic weapons in Beyond Light:

Some fun perks, but all of these guns will compete with the previous exotics over loadout locations. Will they work well enough to kick the "Burden of Izanagi," "Anarchy," and "Divinity" out of the kit?

It is also worth noting that The Lament is specifically mentioned in the trailer as shredding the barrier champion's shield. This suggests two things: 1) that there are a lot of wipes in Grandmaster Nightfalls when fireteams try to ram a champion with a sword, and 2) that Bungie has no intention of addressing the problem of the small number of exotics that can essentially counter a champion's abilities. not going to address it.

This is potentially unfortunate, as it is one of the major obstacles to building diversity in the current end game. That said, this season introduced an armor-based mod that allows any pulse rifle to counter an Unstoppable Champion, and we hope to see something like this planned for future seasons as it helps bring the exotic back into the PvE meta.

As for gear, it's the usual mix of ability buffs and mods. I like the idea of Titan having a specific ability centered around reviving, giving it more utility in those heroic moments when it can save the fireteam from wipes. And as a Warlock main, I would gladly take the exotic with the potential to make the top-tree Dawnblade even stronger in crucible.

Here's all of Beyond Light's exotic gear:

Once Beyond Light launches on November 10, you'll be able to track down these goodies. In the meantime, the "Festival of the Lost" event has just begun in-game.
