"Valorant Act 3" will launch next week with new maps, a new series of skins, and a new lineup of unlockable battle passes divided into free and premium reward tracks. Later this month, a new character named Skye, a healer with magical animal friends, will also enter the game.

Skye is basically a guardian of the Australian forest, traveling with a very small magical zoo. She is able to deploy and control a Tasmanian Tiger. When activated, this Tiger explodes and damages enemies who are directly hit. It also has an inducible hawk that can flash and blind enemies, and if an enemy is within range and line of sight when it explodes, it will confirm the hit. Skye's "Regrowth" ability allows her to use a trinket that heals all allies within range and line of sight.

Skye is scheduled to arrive in Valorant on October 27. But before that, a new Battle Pass featuring a new lineup of unlockable cosmetics, including gun skins, "gun buddy" charms, sprays, and Radianite points, will be available on October 13. The Premium Battle Pass is 1,000 Valorant points ($10) and includes the Ruin, Jade, and Surge skin lines, No Operator and Pick my Strat sprays, and Scuttle Trash and Discotech gun buddies.

The new map, called Icebox, features a zip line and two bomb sites and is "designed to emphasize skirmishes, sharp aim and adaptive play," said level design leader Salvatore "Volcano" Gallozzo said.

"The premise of Icebox's gameplay is that each site is intended to be a complex combat space featuring lots of cover and verticality.

"The map also features zip lines, amplifying the sense of action and verticality.

Icebox will also be available on October 13, along with a new series of skins: the Singularity series will include skins for the Sheriff, Spectre, Phantom, Ares, and melee weapons, which can be purchased individually, or with a player card and gun buddy bundled for 8,700 Valorant points or $75.
