'Fortnite' 14.50 Patch Notes: Jetpacks Are Back, Next-Gen Upgrades Coming

Fortnite 14.50 update is here! Here are the detailed patch notes, including new features, bug fixes, upcoming events, and more. Season 4 of "Fortnite" is coming to a close, but there is still a fair amount of Marvel content left to be played. Even more exciting for our friends on the console side, Epic has some important updates in the works for next-gen hardware. Thankfully, we don't have to worry about that.

There are also some nostalgic gameplay mechanics returning for fans, such as the return of jetpacks.

Fortnitemares is now officially over, bringing back traditional solos, duos, squads, and other LTMS you may have missed while hunting ghosts; if you missed out on the Fortnitemares skins, there's a Skull Squad Pack If you missed out on the Fortnitemares skins, the only thing left is a bundle pack that you can buy with real money, such as the Skull Squad Pack.

Good old Tony Stark. The billionaire/genius/playboy/philanthropist has reintroduced jetpacks to the Fortnite loot ecosystem, as the end of Fortnitemares means the removal of the Witch's Broom, which I loved.

Jetpacks used to come in a variety of rarities, so it is likely that we will see rare, epic, and legendary variations.

YouTuber Lachlan is the next candidate to get his own skin as part of the Fortnite Icon Series. He has been teasing the skin for about a week, and players can win it in Lachlan's Pickaxe Frenzy competition or purchase it in the item store at a later date.

We are PCers and usually don't pay much attention to what console players are up to, but the next-gen upgrades that Epic is incorporating into the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S are fun to watch.

Xbox Series X/S Improvements

- 4K resolution 60FPS for Series X, 1080p 60FPS for Series S - More dynamic visuals and physics in Series X, including trees and grass reacting to explosions. - Faster loading of textures and shorter time to match start - Enhanced split screen at 60FPS in Series X and Series S

PlayStation 5 improvements

- 4K resolution at 60FPS - Visual and physics improvements similar to Xbox - Immersive experience with DualSense controller, including vibration capabilities and tactile trigger response for shooting weapons. - Select modes from the PS5 home screen - Faster loading to matches and textures - Split screen at 60 FPS

More details can be found here, but it is nice to see that the upgrades familiar to PC players are also available to console players. We are especially looking forward to seeing what it feels like to shoot bolt snipers at enemies with the DualSense controller.

Once again, Epic has added a number of bug fixes for issues that plague players. The patches applied include.

Battle Royale bug fixes

- Fixed Cozy Chomps and Ravage costumes showing up as Ramirez in the lobby and matches. - Fixed issue with THWIP Legacies not being awarded after meeting requirements.

Creative Mode bug fixes

- Fixed an issue with Baller's movements becoming unnatural after exit. - Fixed "back to hub" button not showing up on creative play server

Fixed bug with Save the World

- Weapons and perks not working properly after previous update - Fixed issue with hoverboard attachment being canceled after taking storm damage - Fixed game becoming unresponsive after opening the loot llama and after opening the settings menu

That's it for the patch notes for this update. Until then, check out the latest developments in Fortnite, including how to get Lachlan's skin, how to get Ghost Rider's skin, and everything we know about Fortnite Season 5.
