PS4 demo of "Final Fantasy 7" remake leaked, allegedly contains PC code.

"Final Fantasy 7 Remake" is exclusive to PS4, but not until 2021. Square Enix has not announced a PC port, but it seems increasingly likely, and now details from a leaked PS4 demo offer more hints of a future PC replay of Cloud and company's adventures.

Perhaps in preparation for the upcoming general release on PSN, the "Final Fantasy 7 Remake" demo was added to PSN and picked up by people with hacked PS4s. Since then, they have been going through the demo's files and posting datamined screenshots, where hints of a PC version were discovered.

On Twitter, roXyPS3 (cheers, Reddit) said he found several things that suggest a PC port is in development, including a higher resolution (apparently 1080p running at 30fps on PS4) and code that mentions both Nvidia and AMD. He also posted screenshots of files containing weapons, spells, audio, and mini-games.

Square Enix has not confirmed the demo's existence, so it is unclear when PS4 users will be able to play it, but probably soon. Hopefully this leak has not caused any delays. However, those waiting for the PC port will not be able to play it any earlier than March 4, 2021.
