Temtem, the upcoming creature-collecting RPG to be published by Humble Bundle, has released a new trailer showcasing the game's playability. Earlier this week we got a look at the game, and here's more on Temtem. The trailer explains how Temtem's breeding works, stating that it is a "more intense" system for players, emphasizing risk versus reward, and that players can gain unique abilities only available through the breeding system. There are also glowing Luma Tememtems that have better stats and are rarer. These appear prominently in the end zone of the game. (This is an MMORPG.) The creatures available in the end zone will change weekly, and in fact the trailer states that "a new Temtem will appear every week."
Why is it that there have been no creature-collecting games on the PC so far? It's probably because they were all Pokémon fan games. And this certainly seems to be the first creature-collecting MMO. In any case, it reminds us that there were no decent farm life PC games before Stardew valley. Temtem could be our Pokémon. Maybe. I'll keep you posted; Temtem is currently in alpha and is scheduled to launch in Steam Early Access on January 21, with a full release in May 2020. There is currently no official webpage for Temtem, but if you would like more information, please see our announcement article and the Kickstarter details page.
