Today's gaming laptops are better than ever in the hardware arena, but they're also more affordable: MSI's excellent GF63 is now down to $639 and has a faster GPU than the model we reviewed just two months ago.

MSI makes some of the best gaming laptops, and at this price, the GF63 is right up there with it: a Core i5-9500H processor, GeForce GTX 1650 GPU, 8GB of RAM, and a 512GB NVMe SSD in a 15.6 Machine.

The model we reviewed in November cost $10 more at the time and featured a GTX 1050, Core i5-8300H, 8GB of RAM, and a 1TB HDD.

This upgraded model is a better buy. The only downside is that the storage capacity has been cut in half, but the upgrade from HDD to a faster SSD is worth the trade-off. Additionally, we found that the GF63's storage (and RAM) is easily upgradeable.

It is also worth noting that the GF63 is a relatively thin and light machine. The waistline is 0.85 inches and weighs just over 4 pounds. Overall, this performance is a bargain at this price.
