Rockstar to Give Away In-Game Cash and Items for "GTA Online" and "Red Dead Online"

Role
Rockstar to Give Away In-Game Cash and Items for "GTA Online" and "Red Dead Online"

Take-Two Interactive announced today that "Grand Theft Auto 5" is the best-selling game of the past decade and "Red Dead Redemption 2" is the best-selling game of the past four years, according to the NPD Group. If these numbers sound familiar, it may be because they were mentioned a few weeks ago: Activision dominated the decade with "Call of Duty," but could not take the top spot from "GTA5." [Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 have sold more than 150 million units worldwide in their lifetimes." Rockstar Games' total online audience was the largest ever through the fourth quarter of calendar year 2019 and is currently the largest ever."

I bring this up again because good news for Rockstar means good news for you, assuming you are a GTA Online and/or Red Dead Online player. To celebrate these big numbers, Take-Two is handing out some pretty hefty bonuses for both games: players of GTA Online will earn $1 million GTA for play from January 30 through February 5, and $1 million GTA for play from February 5 through February 12. The bonus pays $1 million to players who play between January 30 and February 5 and $1 million to players who play between February 5 and February 12.

On Red Dead Online, digital cowboys who played between January 28 and February 3 will receive a free Schofield Revolver, a free Varmint Rifle, and a Gunslinger's including a Devastating Ammo Bundle Cache: 100x Split Point Revolver Ammo, 100x High Velocity Pistol Ammo, 100x Express Repeater Ammo, 100x Slug Shotgun Ammo, and 20x Exploding Rifle Ammo. log in between February 4 and February 10 to receive a Bounty Hunter Kit (free Bounty Hunter license, 25x bolus, 25x tracking arrows included).

"GTA5" and "RDR2" have not only been a huge success in terms of unit sales: Rockstar has also stated that the player base for "GTA Online" is still growing

even though it has been more than six years since its release (not yet five years for the PC version).

.

"After setting consecutive daily, weekly, and monthly average player records in July and August following the release of The Diamond Casino & Resort, the December release of The Diamond Casino Heist further broke that record and brought back players in unprecedented numbers over the holiday period; the consecutive release of these two huge updates, the largest in GTA Online history, made December 2019 the biggest month ever for player numbers as well."

"With two different worlds now vibrant and thriving, we are very fortunate to have them with us."

These plans include adding a new open-wheel racing series to GTA Online and expanding the Frontier Pursuit in Red Dead Online, with "additional roles, new missions, and many more important updates on the horizon." With any luck, some of Chris' recent suggestions may actually make it into the game.
