Lair of the Clockwork God" to be released in February: mixing point-and-click adventure with platforming

The long-awaited sequel to the indie point-and-click "Ben There, Dan that" and "Time Gentlemen, Please!", Size Five Games' "Lair of the Clockwork God" finally has a release date: February 21, 2020. It is.

It's been a while since we last saw "Ben and Dan," since Size Five Games did "The Swindle," "Gun Monkeys," and "Behold the Kickmen," but it's a little different since we last saw it. lair of the Clockwork Gods, rather than sticking to its adventure game roots, the two protagonists interact with worlds from very different genres. Ben stays true to adventure, while Dan plays as a platformer with wall-jumping and block-pushing.

To illustrate this concept, Size Five previously unveiled the game in a lengthy gameplay trailer, showing how the two characters' unique play styles interact with each other. [Lair of the Clockwork God] is a big gamble, as developer Dan Marshall has stated that if it doesn't sell well, it may be the last game he ever works on. Because while he was never quite comfortable with "The Swindle" and the multiplayer "Gun Monkeys" died shortly after its release, "Ben Zehr," "Dan That," and "Time Gentleman, Please! were all a big hit, as they were my first exposure to the modern adventure genre since the Sega Saturn's "Discworld."

Lair of the Clockwork God will be released on February 21; PC is confirmed, including a Steam page, but console platforms will be announced at a later date.
