Half Life Google Translate version is full of wonderful gibberish!

Google Translate is the best poet of our time, capable of turning mediocre writing into inspiring prose. At least once, you can try translating it into a different language several times before translating it back into English. This is what Modder SausageEggs has done for all dialogue and text in Half-Life. The results are magical.

Almost everything was distorted by Google. Warning signs, dialogs, and even the UI now display very confusing gibberish. As for the dialog, SausageEggs re-recorded the audio so that the guards and scientists could gleefully spout nonsense.

The dubious translations still retain their original meaning, so sometimes the dialogue starts to make sense before it takes a surreal turn, like this gem of a line from the security guard at reception.

"They had problems in the exam room, but I feel like I'm taking a shower."

We've all been there. Other security guards offer important advice.

"Hey! Eat polio from outer space," one wise science cop tells Gordon. Speaking of Big Gordo, this time he is called Cicero. Cicero is, of course, Latin for Gordon.

SausageEggs was inspired by Fatguy703's Book of Mario series, which uses Google Translate to make Paper Mario games a little weird. The results can be seen on his YouTube channel.

Cheers, RPS.
