Blizzard will refund "Warcraft 3: Reforged.

Warcraft 3: Reforged made a really big splash at BlizzCon 2018, which is why its release over a year later is so disappointing to many fans. You can read our detailed Outrage commentary for a detailed breakdown, but the bottom line is that what was promised fell far short of what was delivered, and people didn't take it well. Our review was 59%, which is bad enough for such a beloved RTS, but Metacritic had the lowest user review score for a video game at one point, down to 0.4. (It has since recovered to a score of 0.5.)

Blizzard addressed some complaints earlier this week, promising to implement the missing online features and stating that other aspects, like the remastered cutscenes that were eventually removed, were intended to "preserve the true spirit" of the original game He added that the remastered version of the game was not a "true" version of the original game. Unsurprisingly, this proved to be wholly unsatisfactory, so Blizzard took the highly unorthodox step of offering a refund, no questions asked.

A few days ago, reports of "automated instant refunds" surfaced on the Warcraft 3 subreddit, with some users stating that they were being denied refunds regardless. However, at some point between that point and the present, Blizzard has explicitly promised to provide reforged refunds upon request.

"Blizzard stands behind the quality of our products and services. Typically, we place limits on the availability of refunds for games based on the time since purchase and whether or not they have been used," the updated support message states.

"However, we do want to offer the option of a refund if players feel they did not get the experience they wanted from Warcraft 3: Reforged. Therefore, for the time being, we have decided to offer refunds upon request. Refund requests can be submitted here on our support site."

Sounds simple enough: You will be taken directly to the page to request a refund and asked to log into your Battle.net account. If you have Warcraft 3: Reforged on your account, this process should continue until it is removed and you are refunded. The general consensus is that this system is currently working as intended.
