Microsoft Flight Simulator is currently in technical alpha and looks gorgeous. Maybe it's time for the flight simulator to make a comeback. The alpha content is undisclosed, but someone has uploaded a few test flights.

The first one is a 30-minute flight that includes takeoff and landing and focuses on cockpit details. During the landing, the warning "up, up, up" is repeated.

The second video is calm at first, but then the gorgeous clouds in the distance darken, and soon the flight is rocking through a storm with poor visibility and rain pouring down on the glass. Forgive me for saying that a game that literally travels through the atmosphere looks atmospheric. Regardless, if you have 50 minutes to spare, these videos are worth watching.
