Third Season of "Dragon Ball FighterZ" Kicks Off This Month in Kefla

Arc System Works and Namco Bandai have announced that the third season of the 2D fighting game "Dragon Ball FighterZ" will feature new characters with increased power.

So far, only two of the five characters to appear have been announced. First unveiled at this weekend's DBFZ World Tour Finals is Ultra Instinct Goku, who first appeared in "Dragon Ball Super" and is said to be the ultimate endpoint of Goku's power, comparable to a god of some sort. He will appear in the game in "Spring 2020," with no specific date announced yet.

The second character to be confirmed is Kefla, a fusion of the otherworldly Saiyans Caulifla and Kale, who will appear a few months earlier than UI Goku, on February 28 (February 26 for those with Fighters' Pass 3).

Hints that Kefla might be added to the game have been around since August, when the Kale and Caulifla announcer files were mysteriously discovered and removed from the game files. Six months ago, some people predicted that Kefla and UI Goku would be the first to appear in Season 3. Well done, that person.

Despite being released in 2018, Dragon Ball FighterZ continues to do well. The World Finals will be held this weekend in Paris, and the game is set to appear on the main stage at this year's Evo alongside "Tekken 7," "Smash Bros. Ultimate," and "Samurai Showdown."
