Breaking News: Animal Crossing Music Browser Extension Now Adapts to Local Weather

Just as the music changes over the course of 24 hours in Nintendo's cute Life Sim series, the fan project Animal Crossing Music Chrome extension plays music from your favorite Animal Crossing game and changes the track according to local time.

For those who need a pleasant atmosphere while working or studying for long periods of time, this is a great extension that brings the Animal Crossing experience as close as possible to your PC.

The new (optional) Live Weather feature uses location data to check the local weather forecast and adjusts the song for that particular time period to rain, snow, or the original variant.

The update also adds support for Chrome's new media playback feature. When audio is playing in an unopened tab, a drop-down menu in the upper right corner of Chrome allows users to pause, play, or skip tracks without switching tabs. music on YouTube or Spotify web players. This is especially useful if you are listening to music, want to check the name of a particular song, or want to consolidate media controls by organizing extension icons.

It's all cute stuff. Not so cute: I wrote this article while the 11:00 a.m. tunes were going back and forth between rain and snow. Needless to say, my lunch walk was going to be a slog, not to mention looking out the coffee shop window. I'm glad I wore my holey old buns today!
