Baker Street's most famous resident is on sale today to solve mysteries and crimes, and nearly all of Frogware's Sherlock Holmes collection is on sale on Steam, so for the time being you can don your deerstalker hat and tackle puzzles and murder.
Sherlock Holmes: Crimes and Punishments is deservedly called a masterpiece of detective adventure, immersing you in the fantasy of playing the great detective. You work six cases, interrogate suspects, and tie all the clues together in a mental map of the crimes. Ultimately, you'll be able to make accusations, right or wrong, and accept the consequences. £5/$7.49.
Although not as clever as "Crime and Punishment," I also very much liked "The Awakening." This is another original mystery, this time putting Holmes and Watson on the trail of Cthulhu. All the Sherlock Holmes clichés are still present, but horror, cults, and old gods also make an appearance. The remastered version, which adds a third-person perspective and a few more tweaks, is available for £1.74 / $2.49.
The only game not on sale is the latest, The Devil's Daughter. Most of the series was originally published by Focus Home Interactive, but the two had a rather nasty breakup, and Focus delisted all the games on Steam and other platforms instead of giving the title ID to Frogwares, which was still the IP owner The company did so. However, the situation seems to have been resolved and all games are back on Steam.
The sale will run until 6 p.m. Japan time / 10 a.m. Pacific Standard Time.
