PUBG's upcoming 6.2 title update will add a Team Deathmatch mode as part of a new arcade branch focused on a new game type. Unlike the short-lived TDM in 2018, this mode will eliminate the vastness of Battle Royale and feature tight 8-on-8 matches on seven smaller maps set in the existing PUBG environment.

This mode is first-person only, has respawns, and no friendly fire; there are eight spawn kits (loadouts) to choose from, and health regeneration depends on a boost gauge: if the boost gauge is filled with kills and assists and no damage is taken for five seconds, health is gradually Health regenerates. The match lasts 10 minutes, and the first 50 kills win the match; BP is expected to be earned, but there is no XP reward for the Survivor Pass.

Of course, this doesn't mean that PUBG has completely shifted its focus to Call of Duty territory. As one of the game's developers, Kurt Steinberg, put it, "For fans of battle royale, don't worry, we've got you covered. At its core, PUBG has always been about delivering the most realistic and intense battle royale experience possible."

The new arcade branch also continues to grow: the TDM mode will receive new maps and tweaks, and expect to see "new, familiar game modes" in the future; check out the TDM trailer below:
