Destiny 2" Armor Mods Will Have Major Changes in Operation Next Season

Destiny 2's Armor 2.0 system was introduced to the game with last year's Shadowkeep expansion and made some major and mostly positive changes to the game's handling of armor, especially in regards to customization. One thing that was missing, however, was affinity for elements such as arcs, voids, and rollers, which affect the mods that can be attached to armor. Under the current rules, if you don't like the affinity of a particular armor, your only option is to regrind and hope for the best, which is not ideal. However, that will change in the next season.

"Soon, you will be able to change an armor's elemental affinity directly to one of the other two affinities by hovering over the armor's energy icon from the item inspection screen," Bungie said in today's "This Week at Bungie" update, intended to alleviate the experience of dropping an armor with the desired status, but with a different Elemental Affinity."

"Changing an armor's affinity type consumes one upgrade module. If the armor has already been upgraded to a higher energy level, the cost is the total upgrade materials required to reach that energy value plus one upgrade module."

The next season will also see a major change to the Season Mod: the mod socket of the Season Armor will now house mods released in the season before and after the release of that armor piece: with the mod socket of the Season of Dawn Armor will be able to equip mods released in Season of Dawn, the previous Season of the Undying, and the following season.

However, only for these seasons: Bungie community manager Cozmo23 revealed on Reddit that armor can use mods from the current, preceding, and following three seasons in the season socket. a Destiny 2 survivor. Tim Clark explains: "The community is getting increasingly frustrated with having to replace their perfect gear sets every three months, even when they've built the perfect gear set. In particular, the current Season of Dawn mod is really great." So tomorrow I will show you how to get the most out of the mod.

Destiny 2's next season has not yet been officially announced, but current rumors are that it will be called "Season of the Worthy" and will begin on March 9, bringing back the Trials of Osiris PvP mode. If this rumor is correct, we should have an official announcement shortly.
