Stadia announces that "Baldur's Gate 3" will be released this year.

At first glance, the latest update to the stadia community blog does not appear to be the most exciting piece of news you will see this week. Five more games will be added to the service over the spring and summer: Lost Worlds: Beyond the Page, Stacks on Stacks, Spitlings are all "First on Stadia" releases, plus the "Serious Sam Collection" (my pick) and "Panzer Dragoon".

Once we get into the text, however, things get more interesting. Already you can look forward to "Doom Eternal," "Get Packed," "Orcs Must Die! 3," Baldur's Gate 3, and many others coming to Stadia this year. Explore your children's memories or dive into arcade chaos with your friends with these three titles coming to Stadia this spring and summer. First to Stadia."

The relevant part of this, as you may have noticed, is "Baldur's Gate 3 ... coming to Stadia this year." Up to this point, "Baldur's Gate 3" has not been given any sort of release date; on Steam it is listed as TBA, and our guess is that it is still quite far off. Having just been announced for June 2019, "Divinity: Divinity:. With all due respect to "Original Sin 2," it is Larian's highest-profile project and not one that should be rushed. But there it is.

Is it accurate, Larian told PCGamesN, "We did not announce a release date and it was incorrectly included in that lineup email," and when we inquired in the hopes that we might connect with someone who is less than enthusiastic about PR discipline, the same statement I received it. But "incorrectly included" does not necessarily mean inaccurate; it means it shouldn't be there. And Larian very conspicuously did not say "not coming this year". Unless it isn't.

But it might come! In case you forgot (and I did), Larian announced in January in Baldur's Gate 3 that "something is coming". Perhaps more details will be revealed then.
