Battle Royale mode for "Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" is said to launch in March.

"Call of Duty: Modern Warfare" will have a battle royale mode in March 2020, according to a source who spoke to VGC. The source, who appears to be part of the U.S. development team, said the new mode is "at least a few weeks away" and will probably launch in early March, barring any unforeseen delays.

The battle royale mode will be called "Warzone" and will be available to all existing "Modern Warfare" players. It will appear in the main menu, currently labeled "CLASSIFIED." It is also said that the battle royale mode will be offered for free as a standalone game, but players of that version will be able to upgrade to the full version.

Apparently, the Battle Royale mode will also unify progression with the existing Battle Pass. This means that any cosmetics that have already been unlocked will carry over to the Battle Royale mode.

Finally, VGC sources indicate that more details about Warzone will be announced this week. This is because North American content creators have reportedly been invited to play and shoot footage of the battle royale mode ahead of the announcement.

These rumors come after a week of leaks that seemed to hint at a "Warzone" battle royale mode for CoD MW. It all started when Activision announced the game's second season, which featured a cinematic of soldiers falling from a plane onto what appeared to be a large map surrounded by gas. All of these elements are essential to the battle royale map and mode.

Data miners then got to work and found files related to something called Warzone. Meanwhile, some players had accidentally entered the map in the cinematic through a bug. We hope to find out soon whether the leak is accurate.
