PUBG Raises Money for Australia with Limited Edition Frying Pan

The wildfires that have ravaged Australia over the past few months have been "contained" thanks to heavy rains. However, with 33 dead, an estimated 3,000 homes destroyed, and a million animals lost, the remaining devastation must be dealt with PUBG Corporation has released a limited-edition charity frying pan skin for Playerunknown's Battlegrounds, with all proceeds to be used for fire relief in Australia.

The Australian Fire Relief Frying Pan, poetically named and featuring original art (koalas and kangaroos) by community artist @SWatercolour, is available for $3 on the PC version from today through March 18, and on consoles from February 27 through March 26 for 300 G-Coins. After the sale, all funds raised will be donated in a lump sum to an as yet unnamed charity.

"We thank those who have purchased the pans for their contribution to this cause. If this pan is not what you want, we encourage you to research disaster relief efforts and donate directly to your favorite charities," the PUBG team wrote.

"It will take time for Australia and its environment to recover from a disaster of this magnitude, but we are grateful to be in a position to help in some way." "We are grateful to have fans like you who are willing to donate to such a worthy cause."

Gaming-related fundraisers for Australian fire relief include the Humble Bundle, which was a huge success with the most expensive ship sale in EVE Online history; the Outback Relief Pack for Modern Warfare, which sold $1.6 million; a gorgeous reality Destiny 2 t-shirts, and the Hunt: Showdown DLC pack, available for purchase through March 31.
