AMD's Ryzen 7 3700X is an excellent mid-priced choice for gaming setups, as we've previously noted, but this bargain price makes its proposition even better: B&H Photo has it down to $299.99. This is the same discount we saw during the Black Friday and Cyber Monday sales.

Simply put, the 3700X is one of the best CPUs for gaming in terms of cost performance; it is based on AMD's latest generation Zen 2 CPU architecture, and when paired with an X570 motherboard with PCI Express 4.0 support, it is on the cutting edge. [It is a powerful processor with 8 cores and 16 threads, clocked at 3.6 GHz (base) to 4.4 GHz (max turbo), 32 MB of L3 cache, and a 65 W TDP. Compared to Intel's Core i7-9700K, it is about 9% slower in games, but this is at 1080p with a GeForce RTX 2080 Ti. If you buy a sensible GPU (think around a Radeon RX 5700 XT), the performance difference is almost negligible. Also, outside of games, the multithreaded performance is about 18% better than the 9700K.

This CPU also comes with AMD's Wraith Prism RGB cooler. It is sufficient to run at stock settings and should be able to handle mild overclocking.
