"Black Desert Online" will be available for free download and play on Steam this weekend. The sandbox MMO will be free to play starting today through March 2 at 4 p.m. CEST/7 a.m. PST/10 a.m. EST. The DLC for the Traveler's and Explorer's Packages is also on sale at a 60% discount.

Developer Pearl Abyss has announced that first-time players will also receive a free game pass that can be kept forever, called the Starter's Package. The Guest Package includes access to Black Desert Online and 10 guest passes.

Black Desert Online released its 2020 roadmap last week, introducing new features that will allow players to unlock musical souls with playable instruments. The roadmap also teased new classes, including the Guardian, a powerful, battle-axe wielding warrior of the North.

Black Desert Online is on our list of best MMOs, and Steven praised the game's expansive crafting system, stating, "The amount of freedom is unmatched." He stated. Black Desert Online is free to play on Steam until Monday.
