It was inevitable. The wrinkled, green, 50-year-old star of Mandalorian finally became a playable character in Star Wars Battlefront 2. Disney may be hesitant to let DICE turn the cute alien baby into a killing machine, but modders Nanobuds needn't be so reticent.

We first heard about the mod last year when Nanobuds revealed they were working on it and added it to their mod collection, which includes a very cool cyborg Darth Maul and an intimidating battle damaged Darth Vader. I finished it last week, so you can try it out now.

Baby Yoda replaces BB-8, one of the new additions to Battlefront 2. Almost the same size, Baby Yoda moves around in a spherical pod with a spherical bottom, so it's already pretty close. I expect Baby Yoda to survive just as skillfully.

I'd like to think I'm not fooled by Disney's Force persuasion, but I love Baby Yoda and would die to protect him. Judging by how well Battlefront 2 usually does, I will prove that time and again. In the movies, no one in Star Wars is supposed to know how to shoot a gun, but in the game, sadly, that's not the case.

Battlefront 2 also received a hefty update last week, returning to the original trilogy and adding new Ewok heroes. It's nice to see them return, as the focus has been on the Clone Wars and the rise of Skywalker.
