New Map Celebrates 10th Anniversary of Fallen London

Failbetter's resilient browser game Fallen London recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. Starting this week, a snazzy new map will be available for visitors to view in this subterranean metropolis.

Given that Fallen London is the map it is, this visual overhaul seems more important than otherwise. Beta testers already have this map in their hands, so hopefully the changes will be smooth when it launches on Wednesday.

It's impressive that a strange and wordy browser game has been sitting around so long and getting so much attention by developers, and Failbetter has been working on "Sunless Sea" and "Sunless Skies," both set in the same world as "Fallen London." While they have begun work on "Sunless Sea" and "Sunless Skies," the original game continues to receive updates and new storylines.

They also attempted to port the game to iOS and Android, but the app was eventually removed from both. Thankfully, the browser version works perfectly on cell phones, so it wasn't too big of a loss.

Fallen London will be down for an update on Wednesday, March 4.
