Three New Half-Life: Alix's Gravity Glove and Upgradable Gun Action Video

Valve has released three new videos showcasing Half-Life: Alyx, the VR Half-Life prequel coming March 23. In the videos, Alyx is seen dealing with head clubs, zombies, combine soldiers, puzzles, and all manner of physical interactions, including health stations and locked doors.

And we get a good look at her very cool pistol action, including a visit to the upgrade station to add a reflex sight and laser sight. There is also a scene where she transforms a shotgun into a grenade launcher, clamping explosives onto the barrel and firing them. We also see how useful the gravity glove can be, throwing grenades back at soldiers who throw them, as well as snatching items away from the barnacles' tongues.

At one point Alix puts a hard hat on her head. Is this to protect against head clubbing?

In the first video above, Alix is making her way through a dark area of City 17 using the teleport movement option. She visits a fabricator at the Combine, where she can upgrade her pistol with resin collected by searching through containers scattered all over the place. She also uses the combine's health station.

In the second video below, the player moves through a zen infested part of town, dealing with barnacles and headcrabs, and solving 3D puzzles to open doors.

The last video is a battle with Combine soldiers, where Alix uses a cool looking shotgun and gravity gloves to pop back grenades. There is a mix of teleportation and normal movement.
