Ducktales Remastered is back on Steam

Ducktales Remastered is back on Steam

In August 2019, DuckTales: Remastered was removed from Steam and other digital storefronts for reasons unknown. Those who previously purchased the game can still access it, and the disc version will still work as before (remember, it was released in 2013), but if you don't get it before it's gone, you'll forever be ...... Losses!

Or until today, for reasons unknown, it was back on Steam.

"If you missed this gem the first time around, now is the perfect time to jump in... Calling you back to the golden age of 8-bit games and Saturday morning cartoons, Ducktales: the remastered version features hand-drawn sprite animation that brings each character to life in a lively world brought to life in a lively world.

"The streets of Duckburg and numerous exotic locations look better than ever thanks to the original animated hand-drawn backgrounds. Talent from the original Disney character voices have recreated the roles they played in the cartoons to perfection.

This is in line with our 2013 review of Ducktales: the remastered version is a little too faithful to the 1989 original. Unfortunately, it says nothing about why the game was made playable again, or why it was removed in the first place. This may not matter if you really just want to buy and play it, but I'm curious about these things, so I emailed Capcom and asked them about it. I will update when I hear back.
