Fourteen years have passed since the first "Test Drive Unlimited" set the template for the open-world racer, and nearly a decade since the sequel after "Burnout Paradise" fell short. So it's about time this series got a second look: KT Racing - Kylotonn is the studio behind the World Rally Championship series and is currently developing its sequel.

The news comes from Benoit Clerc, head of publishing at Nacon. A little background: Nacon is the new name of the Bigben Group, which is taking over the publishing, development, and accessory-related operations Clerc made this announcement in an interview with VentureBeat.

Regarding Nacon's recent acquisition of studios, Clerc had this to say about Kylotonn. They are based in Paris and Lyon. They specialize in racing. They do off-road racing in the WRC and two-wheel racing in the Isle of Man TT. They are currently working on their biggest project for us, the next installment of Test Drive Unlimited."

The studio's next film, TT Isle of Man 2, will be released on March 20, so hopefully we'll hear something substantial about Test Drive Unlimited after that.
