Director Kojima shows off the PC photo mode for "Death Stranding".

Death Stranding's photo mode, which will be released with the PC version on June 2, will probably get a lot of use. Post-apocalyptic America looks strictly like a picturesque Iceland, which is begging to be photographed, but what I'm really looking forward to are the slapstick photos of a heavily armed Sam tumbling down a mountain.

The PS4 version of the game still limits players to basic screenshots, making it difficult to get the perfect shot. In the meantime, director Hideo Kojima has kindly offered us a sneak peek at the upcoming photo mode. Director Hideo Kojima's Twitter page offers several options and some photos taken by the team.

Judging from the short clip, it has everything one would expect from this currently standardized mode. There are plenty of options to help you find the right angle, adjust color and brightness, and tweak various filters. The Polaroid option is particularly Cosima-like. Sam can change his pose, so he can feel like a model. Or you can remove him from the shot altogether.

Kojima also mentioned the history of in-game cameras. Dating back to the first "Metal Gear Solid," players were able to check out Shadow Moses and hunt down ghosts from a first-person perspective. After that, cameras appeared in all games until "Metal Gear Solid 5".

I've already finished playing the PS4 version of "Death Stranding," but I have a bad habit of getting the PC version of games I've played to death just to take pictures. Inevitably, I will return to Iceland America.

Along with the photo mode, the PC version will come with an extended soundtrack, Half-Life-themed headgear, and several other new cosmetic items. The release date is June 2 and is available for pre-order now on Steam and the Epic Games Store for $60/£55/€60.
