Riot Games has released a new trailer showcasing the combat abilities of Phoenix, one of the eight characters fighting in the upcoming competitive FPS "Valorant." He is skilled with guns, but his real talent is literally throwing fire.

The video is very brief and doesn't explain what's going on, but fortunately we got an overview of all of Valorant's characters earlier this week, so it's not too hard to figure out what's going on.

The fireballs he is throwing are curveballs, flashbangs that turn corners and blind his enemies. The large wall of flame, on the other hand, is a blaze, which blocks line of sight and damages players who pass through it. His other two abilities, Hot Hands Fireball and Run It Back Ultimate, are not shown.

This is the first Valorant gameplay trailer dedicated to a specific character, but given Overwatch's similar approach to characters, we'll be seeing more soon. Valorant is scheduled to launch this summer, ahead of a beta and will have cosmetics available for purchase, but no loot boxes will be available.
