AMD wants to hear from Radeon owners who are having black screen issues.

The Radeon RX 5700 XT and 5700 seem to be primarily affected, but it's not hard to imagine how frustrating it must be for Radeon graphics card owners who have persistent black screen problems. AMD has been working to squash various black screen bugs AMD has been working to squash the various blackscreen bugs, some of which were included in the latest driver update. And now they are asking Radeon owners who are still having problems to inform the company directly, rather than (or in addition to) spitting it out on Reddit.

"If you are still experiencing any issues with your system, please submit a bug report so we can get to work on a fix... Posting issues on Reddit or other community forums is helpful, but it doesn't necessarily mean we will find your post or get enough information from it.

There is a special website for submitting bug reports to AMD. This site asks for the graphics card model, part number, driver version, and a few other pieces of information. It also includes lots of check boxes for specific games and benchmarks that trigger black screens.

This is an ongoing issue for some users and AMD has stated that they have heard the community loud and clear.

"We've listened to you, and the AMD and Radeon community includes some of the most vocal people on the Internet, proudly showing off their AMD hardware and raving about how great their systems are, while pointing out with equal passion the problems they've encountered. They also point out the problems they have encountered with equal passion. Our team pays close attention to all of your submissions and has been working diligently with our engineers to resolve as many of these issues as possible in the latest release of Radeon Software Adrenalin 2020 Edition," said AMD.

AMD's latest driver update (Adrenalin 2020 Edition 20.2.2) includes several black screen fixes in the bug notes, which we wrote about a few weeks ago. Since then, AMD has provided a WHQL-certified version of the same driver that has been "further tested." WHQL stands for Windows Hardware Quality Labs, which basically means that it has been tested and certified by Microsoft for Windows.

If your Radeon GPU is having black screen issues, you will probably want to try the latest drivers; AMD also recommends trying a clean install of the drivers. To do this, you must select "Factory Reset" at the start of the installation process.
