In its Guild Wars 2 update this spring and summer, ArenaNet also revealed plans for a new expansion in the more distant future. The developer has remained silent on the details, but has released some early concept art.

The previous expansion, Path of Fire, launched in 2017, but Guild Wars 2 has continued to receive story updates; following Visions of the Past: Fire and Steel on March 17, ArenaNet will release the " Icebrood Saga" storyline will continue with a third episode.

"The environment in this episode will focus on capturing and defending territory on PvE maps, using WvW-like objectives to drive back enemies, defeat familiar foes, and maximize reward potential." They will also take on new strike missions that put a different spin on the gameplay mechanics."

The Super Adventure Festival will also allow players to dive back into the Super Adventure Box and celebrate the defeat of the Elder Dragons at the Dragon Bash in the summer.

While we wait for news on the next expansion, there will be no shortage of things to do; ArenaNet has not even revealed the name yet, so a release date is probably still a ways off.
